The Lilac Breasted Roller, native to Africa, is a spectacle to behold with 14 different colours in its feathers. To hold true to its beauty, the illustration was completed with lustrous watercolours. Named after their mating display, these birds put on a spectacle as they dive from the sky, rolling back and forth to attract the female. They occupy the grasslands of eastern to southern Africa and are very prevalent for the month of August, during the breeding season of the roller.
