Creobroter gemmatus

The Jewelled Mantis is native to southeast Asia, and protects itself by imitating flowers with its unique look. It camouflages itself with its surroundings with bright pink and green colours, and unique textures and graphic markings similar to flowers of the area. They are the smallest, yet most widespread flower mantis. This illustration is completed with a traditional pen nib and ink, from observation of a preserved specimen.
